AMERICAN PIE COUNCIL

The Pie Maven is a proud member of the American Pie Council.  The American Pie Council is an organization dedicated to preserving our pie heritage and promoting the love of pies.  The American Pie Council offers several membership levels, ranging from professional bakers to everyday lovers of pie.

The American Pie Council created National Pie Day, dedicating January 23rd to the celebration of pie.

The American Pie Council sponsors annual events, such as the National Pie Championships and the Great American Pie Festival.  Members receive benefits such as pie recipes, coupons, and the quarterly newsletter, Pie Times.

The National Pie Championships is a 4-day event (co-sponsored by Crisco) where American and Canadian bakers (professional, amateur, and junior) have been competing for titles in various categories since 1995.  The National Pie Championships are held in April each year in Kissimmee, FL.  Best of Show winners receive $5,000 and bragging rights.  Applications for entrants and judges can be found on the American Pie Council site.  Go Pie!
